Meeting of the Eastern Catholic Bishops of Europe
Košice, 17.th - 20.th October 2013

In collaboration with the Council of the Bishops´ Conferences of Europe (CCEE) each year the Meeting of the Eastern Catholic Bishops of Europe takes place in different countries of Europe. The aim of the Meeting is to discuss the challenges of the modern day society Easter Christians have to affront. A group of experts together with the CCEE proposes and prepares the theme for the yearly Meeting. Lectures offered by renowned scholars and the vivid discussion during the sessions yield the basic guidelines for the local Eastern Catholic communities. In 2013 the theme will be The Evangelization of the Culture. The 1150th anniversary of the mission of the holy brothers St. Cyril and Methodius to the Slavs of the Great Moravia and the ongoing Year of Faith give opportunity to come together to discuss the proposed theme in the city of Kosice, Slovakia, that holds the title Capital of the European Culture 2013. Among the outstanding speakers and guests of the Meeting will be H. Em. Mons. Jozef cardinal Tomko, H. Ex. Mons. Cyril Vasiľ SJ, archbishop – secretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Catholic Churches, and P. Marko Rupnik SJ, director of the Centro Aletti in Rome.

In 2013 the Meeting takes place in Kosice, Slovakia, from October 17 – 20. The detailed program will be published at www.concilium2013.grkatke.sk.
